KiWi Power one of first five DSR aggregators welcomed to Flex Assure

KiWi Power is delighted to be one of the first five DSR aggregators to complete the application process and meet the standards required to join Flex Assure.

Flex Assure is a voluntary DSR Code of Conduct scheme developed by the ADE with support from government, industry stakeholders and businesses. It sets common standards for DSR aggregators to give businesses assurance that they will receive good quality service from registered scheme members.

KiWi Power has provided evidence that our processes meet or exceed the standards outlined in the DSR Code of Conduct.

Jonathan Ainley, UK Programme Manager at KiWi Power commented: For the UK DSR industry to continue to grow and flourish, it’s essential that businesses can easily compare solutions from different providers and trust the information they receive.

The Scheme provides businesses with greater clarity and transparency of DSR products and services, and proposes minimum standards businesses should expect from their aggregator. By creating a common framework, the scheme makes it easier for businesses to compare DSR solutions from different providers and make informed decisions.

Jonathan added: “KiWi Power has always provided best-in-class DSR solutions and has built long-term relationships with our clients based on openness, honesty and respect. Flex Assure is an important step forward for the industry, and a mark of the high standards KiWi Power sets for ourselves. It’s what every business should expect from their DSR aggregator.

John Bryant, Director of Flex Assure said: “We are very happy to announce that today the first five DSR aggregators have been accepted into the Flex Assure scheme. These companies are critical for the future of a flexible, low-carbon energy system in the UK. National Grid ESO stated yesterday the UK has run over 400 hours coal free, following the coal free fortnight. Demand Side Response aggregation supports this record-breaking streak and will help deliver flexibility at a large scale.

“We encourage DSR customers to consider these five companies when evaluating the benefits of demand response services, as they have all committed to scheme oversight of their DSR products and services. We hope to be announcing the successful completion of more applications very soon, once all of the scheme’s requirements are completed.”
